Southeast Alaska Food Bank: A big thank you, Juneau

As 2017 comes to an end, the Southeast Alaska Food Bank has a lot to be thankful for.

On behalf of our board of directors and our volunteers, we’d like to thank everyone for your very generous support this year. It’s been our pleasure to continue working to provide help to those families and individuals who might not be able to access much needed food.

We’d like to thank Foodland IGA, Super Bear IGA, SEAK Distributors, Northern Sales, Fred Meyer, Costco, Safeway, Breeze In, Rainbow Foods, and the E&M Oriental Store for their regular donations of both perishable and non-perishable food.

We’d like to thank the Juneau Radio Center, Curves, National Association of Letter Carriers, Grateful Dogs of Juneau, Southeast Alaska Board of Realtors, Boy Scouts, Rotary, BRH Cardiac Rehab, Chamber of Commerce, Pioneers of Alaska, Wells Fargo, United States Coast Guard, Alaska National Guard, Rainbow Girls, Moose Lodge, Juneau School District, UAS students, many State of Alaska offices, several Federal agencies, and many others for conducting food drives.

Thanks to everyone who supports us through their contributions to the United Way of Southeast Alaska, as well as everyone who donates funds directly to us. Every dollar is a big help

We’d like to thank the Alaska Legislature for participating in the annual Thanksgiving in March fundraiser which raised over $42,000.00 for the food bank.

Thanks to Pavitt Health and Fitness, the Alaska Club, and Nugget Mall for allowing us to have donation drop boxes at their locations, as well as everyone who utilizes our food drop box located in front of our building.

Thanks to First Bank, AlaskaUSA, Holland America, Northrim Bank, Avista Foundation, and Safeway for their financial support this year,

Thanks to Martha’s Flowers, First Student, and Willie’s Marine for their support by donating their time and talents.

And a BIG THANK YOU to our small army of volunteers.

Last year, through the efforts of our one employee and our dedicated volunteers, we provided over 325,000 pounds of food to local food pantries, non-profit organizations, and members of the community.

The goal of the Southeast Alaska Food Bank is to continue to make a difference in the quality of life of those needing help providing food for their families. Your continued support will help us provide nutritious food for those in our community who need our assistance.

Sincerely,

Darren Adams

Manager,
