Juneau Style: Michael Tarren Scott

Michael Tarren Scott

On an otherwise cold, gray Monday morning downtown, Michael Tarren Scott’s buffalo plaid shirt was the only color in sight. His bright red and black checks stood out against his otherwise all black, cold weather gear: toque, puff jacket, jeans, and boots. En route to the library to read, he stopped to say “hello” and I appreciated the momentary brightness he brought to the day. Michael is a local Christian hip-hop artist and poet.

• Juneau Style is a weekly fashion segment capturing how Juneauites dress, whether on the streets downtown, on the fishing docks or on the trails. We believe the Juneau look — XtraTufs, Carhartts, rain gear, all of it! — is something to be celebrated.
