Writers' Weir: A poem by Richard Stokes

Buds

By Richard Stokes

Born from earth, silicon and oxygen
united in white-hot heat,
later tinted brown and shaped,
smooth shoulders, full firm lips,
and strong enough body to
withstand abuse from without
and pressures from within.
Today I dump six empties
in the recycle bin.
